I Choose Not to Believe...

No matter how many media outlets report it, I choose not to believe the rumors (or "facts," whatever...). Here's hoping a musical genius is remembered for his art and not for the rest of it...

You rock those short pants, sir... You rock 'em...

It's amazing how much of MJ's stuff (performances particularly) just don't lose anything over the years. I submit that if the musical world had progressed exactly the way it did, minus Michael Jackson, and suddenly Thriller was released today, or lets say MJ goes on American Idol, then he still ends up a huge phenomenon. Maybe not the supernova that he was, but huge nonetheless. The guy was special.

I love how he starts out lip-syncing (as was the custom at the time), but then you can hear them being a little late turning on his mic before he sings live with the choir... and sounds just as good as the tape...

I agree completely that his classic work is timeless... I look forward to his come-back tour when he resurfaces in 5 years or so. =)
